Great way to spend an hour or two in the city centre. Interesting exhibits over multiple floors. There’s a nice coffee and gift shop. Entrance is free
Great way to spend a few hours. Lots of interesting information about Scotland throughout the ages. And some beautiful local art too. Entry is free and there’s the option to donate. They also have a gift shop and cafe.
Free and has a nice selection of historic information and eyhibits. The museum is however not open on Sundays or Mondays and the lighting on some of the exhibits is just bad.
Beautiful museum with lots of interesting facts about the history of Scotland, specifically the Highlands.
It's clearly structured following a timeline. You navigate through the museum by yourself. There are some activities for kids. Definitely recommend this museum as it is free (a donation is welcome).
Great museum to visit. There are actually two parts to it. The first follows the history of Scotland from creation until today. There are artifacts from every time period. It goes from geological history to recent. The second part is an art gallery. We did not have time to go through it all. Plus, there is no charge to get in. They only requested a donation.
The famous armlet to try on, a tartan bundle of cloth to try on, very friendly staff and an entertaining mixture of history, modern art and local wildlife settings. Very mich worth seeing, and a very good shop as well..
The castle was closed due to maintenance works and me and 2 friends wandered in. Really wonderful exhibition and gift shop - upstairs a wonderful art gallery celebrating local glasswork and paintings.
The staff made the experience though - lovely people. Shows the strength of the community here 💜
Excellent space for the recent Leon Patchett exhibition, an inspiring set of natural sculptures.
